bouncebounce baby.

Starting music to download for week one:
Tyga "No Introduction" [album]
A Rocket To The Moon.
Cartel [first two albums]
Sunny Day Real Estate.
Texas Is the Reason.
Yellowcard.
[to be added to when my memory unfuzzes]

This year's writing totems:
My Chadam-head self-made paperweight.
White guitar pick.
Mp3 player's armband, for a reason that relates to my character.
A guy's hooded sweatshirt that he gave me.

That's enough, right, haha.  May add more, who knows?

eta: Now I'm using googledocs for some character planning.
With google.docs and LiveJournal voiceposts, I'm determined to use innovation to help make this year's NaNo much more fun, because not having enough fun was my main flaw last year.
Also, posting it here will keep me to it, but I'm taking a month long absence from myspace, entirely for the month of November, because I think it's not a only a distraction, but a uniform creativity killer.

eta 2: In addition to using google.docs and LJ voiceposts, I've discovered that I very much like to type on Q10 software.  The typing sounds are very unobnoxious, and it's very easy to use.

she could be money, cars, fear of the dark.

So, I found this amazing little booklet from someone on the NaNo forums, and decided to print it out.  I'm already so glad I did.
It's lying on my desk shelf along with the notebook I've been plotting in, Chadam [one of my writing totems this year, also a very pretty self-made paperweight], and some ink pens.  It's got progress charts for November, a map, a timeline, character planning sheets, and chapter planning sheets, plus little reminders.  It's so amazing.  I love it.
I'm getting so incredibly stoked.
I've decided to have a lot more fun with NaNo this year than I did last.
It's getting cold in the house a lot more.  Reminds me of last November and how my hands were almost too frozen to type.
Picking out my music already, and the part for my laptop's getting ordered no later than this weekend.

no one is telling me the speed i should be traveling.

Getting ready for November.
My second year doing NaNoWriMo, and last year I won with over 50k words written on my first novel "The City By The Sea".  Keeping a blog through the whole thing was really key at keeping my stress under control and keeping me on track.  Looking back and reading it is an amazing feeling, too.

I had a hugely plotted out basis for my novel all set to go, just needed to run through some outlines.  But then I saw my new title on my favorite author's blog ("The Life and Times of H. Chiller") and knew I had to change focus completely.
Now I'm writing a superhero-style alter-ego adventure novel based around my main character Chris Heyson a.k.a H. Chiller.
So I'm armed with virtually nothing.  At this point, not even my trusty laptop, Travis.
Hopefully, he can be working for it, otherwise, I'm going to really have to tough it out, and I wouldn't blame myself then if I didn't win.  Fingers crossed for Travis.

Until November, I'm going to try and pull together a very rough outline, because I kind of want to see if I can get into the true NaNoWriMo spirit of winging it.  Also, I'm totally going to start hoarding my supplies together.
That means I need to stock up on: SNACKS, this year the focus is on candy; drinks, I'm getting everyone to get me Coke Zero for my birthday; gum; blankets; MUSIC!; and, my inspiration item this year is going to be: A BLACK CAPE.  Hopefully, I just need to find one, or find something else like a glove, hat, etc. to fit in with my novel this year.
Wow, hard to believe it's been a year since I did this, seems like a dream.
Seventeen days until NaNoWriMo.
